Jan Boone President
Jan Boone is Bluewater Yacht Sales' President, and is in charge of the company's sales, strategic planning, manufacturer and customer relations. My goal is to build and maintain an environment with a professional team with specific processes and strategies, attracting strong partnerships with Manufacturers, Consumers, Lenders and Sales Professionals who desire to be a part of a successful organization. From a Manufacturer's perspective we want to represent and become champions of quality Brands who offer quality products and after-sales service; from a Customer's perspective to outperform our promises and instill loyalty; from a Lender's perspective, deliver what we promise; from a Sales Professional's perspective, provide a positive environment with streamlined processes, product training and opportunities for success.
Jan grew up in North Carolina, and graduated from UNC-Greensboro with a BS in Business, and a minor in Economics. Jan held a variety of roles within her nearly 25 years with Hatteras Yachts to include Sales, Marketing and Service. She credits her success to her work ethic, organizational skills and her ability to build solid relationships around the world. Jan was responsible for global sales as well as strengthening the Brand through solid training and marketing strategies. That training today now counts for credit towards certification within the Certified Professional Yacht Brokers Association, a worldwide endorsed program.
Within her few short years on the retail side, Jan has was awarded Hatteras' coveted "Passion and Pride" awarded for exhibiting a strong passion for business. In addition, she attained the Circle of Excellence awards in 2009, and 2010. She currently lives in New Bern, NC with her husband and daughter, and works out of the Beaufort, NC office. When not at work, the family enjoys relaxing on their center console which is moored in Atlantic Beach.
Heidi Speciale Controller
Heidi Speciale joined Bluewater Yacht Sales in June 2007 as Controller. Heidi has a wealth of accounting experience, which makes her a perfect match for her very demanding position here. Previously, she was the controller for Islamorada, a hugely popular retail store located in Emerald Isle, NC, and prior to that she served as the cash manager for John Hopkins Hospital-Wyman Park in Baltimore.
Heidi grew up on Long Island, NY, spending her summers on the beach at the Hamptons. Heidi graduated from Dowling College with a BA in Accounting. Heidi enjoys spending her free time with her family.
A Tidewater Virginia native, Chris founded Bluewater Yacht Sales in 1968 after developing a proven set of business management skills as the president of a large manufacturer’s representative company. Born a waterman, Chris parlayed his personal and competitive passion for sailing and powerboat racing to unfalteringly advance Bluewater Yacht Sales through strong and weak economies to where the company is currently positioned 40+ years later - one of the most successful yachting businesses in the United States.
Even though Chris has assembled an impressive team of sales, service and support staff to run daily operations, he is still very involved with the Bluewater operations; However, he has more time these days to pursue other interests as well. He serves on several executive boards, and is deeply involved with the boating industry and community at large. His passion for boat racing and automobile racing add to his many achievements. Together, the Bluewater Team of Chris and his younger brother Earle enjoyed a calling to race 2.5 and 7-litre hydroplanes - winning seven world and national titles. Chris and Team Bluewater have also enjoyed being on the leaderboard of some of the East Coast’s most notable sportfishing tournaments thanks to being equipped with highly skilled crews and some of the industry’s best performing boats from the brands Bluewater has represented over the years such as Hatteras, Regulator & Viking Yachts.
In running their own and showcasing the various boating brands that the Halls have sold in Bluewater’s spanning history, they formed enduring relationships with almost everyone that had a hand in the construction of the world’s finest boats. From the many who toiled tirelessly behind the scenes to Viking’s pioneering Healy family, the Halls’ desire to have an entrenched understanding of every aspect of boat construction, performance and innovations, resulted in personal relationships that provide Bluewater customers with unparalleled access to- and support from their sail, yacht and sportfish brands of choice.

Now a multi-faceted and wildly successful group of operations, the Bluewater Network employs the same hands-on approach that Chris has put forth from Day 1 – always go the extra mile to ensure the company only represents the finest brands and that a customer’s boat stands out in a crowded market.
Chris and his wife Judy call Hampton, Virginia home and have enjoyed sharing the boating lifestyle with their children and their families. Son Chris Jr. is a member of Bluewater’s management team and daughter Kathy is a college professor teaching English in Abu Dhabi. Chris and Judy enjoy spending their free time cruising the nearby waters of the Chesapeake Bay estuary, and extended trips along the Mid-Atlantic and beyond.
Raised on the waters near Portsmouth, Virginia’s ICW MM Zero, Earle’s interests and boating experiences are extremely diverse. From a humble beginning helping his brother Chris rig new sailboats at a very young age, he advanced to spending his summers off from Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and Virginia Wesleyan College as an outboard motor mechanic to fund what would become an illustrious career racing stock outboard hydroplanes. As Bluewater Yacht Sales began to prosper, Earle became a full-time team member in 1977.
In the off hours, the Bluewater Team of Chris and Earle raced 2.5 and 7-litre hydroplanes, winning seven world and national titles. Earle went on to race on the Unlimited Hydroplane circuit and Formula One tour, and is an inductee of the American Power Boat Association’s “Hall Of Champions”. Earle’s victory lanes were not limited to powerboat racing though. He also managed to make his mark on the East Coast sportfishing circuit, representing brands like Viking and Hatteras Yachts on Bluewater’s demo boats.
Today, that same passion for all things on the water thrives as Earle continues to make the boating lifestyle a mainstay when spending quality time with his family. Earle and his wife Denise met through the boating business when she was delivering boats as a yacht captain. They have two children, Kelsea & Connor, and like many families today, the Halls balance a very active schedule that finds Denise at horse shows “crew chiefing” for Kelsea while Earle is crewing for Connor at car races - Yet they always make time for family cruising on the southern Chesapeake or offshore fishing up and down the Mid-Atlantic and beyond.

Earle believes that combining the knowledge and experience from so many different facets of boating has played a major role in the successful development and leadership of the Bluewater Network’s service and boatworks operations he oversees. It is Earle’s goal to ensure that the same steadfast standards and impassioned efforts that go into winning races, shows and tournaments goes into the quality of work that a Bluewater customer’s boat receives.
Randy Ramsey is a Bluewater Yacht Sales principal, and is primarily responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day operations. Randy and Dan Reitz founded Jarrett Bay Yacht Sales in April 2003 and together led the merger of their organization with Bluewater Yacht Sales in 2012. Randy is also the Founder and President of Jarrett Bay Boatworks. He has been involved in almost every aspect of the boating and fishing industries throughout his life-from running a charter fishing operation to co-founding the Harker's Island Sportfishing School, from building boats for Harris Boat Works to marine surveying for various underwriters, from becoming a licensed Coast Guard captain and yacht broker to running the world's leading custom boat manufacturing and service facility.
Randy lives in Carteret County, North Carolina, and is a very active member of numerous local and regional boards. Most notably, Randy has served on the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament's Board since 1983, serving as president for two terms. He also serves on the boards of the North Carolina Manufacturer's Association and the American Boat Builders & Repairers Association, is President of The North Carolina State University Student Aid Association, and is a member of the North Carolina State University Board of Trustees, among numerous others. Randy and his wife Tiffany are avid boaters and enjoy participating in billfish tournaments together. Randy has one son Alan and a granddaughter Autumn.
Dan Reitz is a Partner in Bluewater Yacht Sales, and is primarily responsible for overseeing the company's strategic planning and financial matters. Dan and Randy Ramsey founded Jarrett Bay Yacht Sales in April, 2003. They owned and managed JBYS for almost a decade prior to merging their company with Bluewater Yacht Sales in October, 2012.
Prior to entering the marine industry, Dan was co-owner and CFO of Big Rock Sports, a national group of wholesalers of fishing tackle and hunting equipment. He was previously President of Avis Enterprises, a private holding company owned by Warren Avis, founder of Avis Rent-A-Car. Dan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
Dan has held leadership positions with the American Sportfishing Association, Carteret County Economic Development Council and Carteret County Public School Foundation, among others.
Dan and his wife, Tricia, live on Bogue Sound, overlooking the ICW, outside of Morehead City, NC. They have two daughters, Jackie and Stephanie, who attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dan enjoys boating, golf and travel. He is a passionate fan of the Detroit Tigers and Michigan State Spartans.
Some of our associates may claim that they grew up around Bluewater, but in this case, it is true. Chris Hall Jr. claims he has 44 years in the business with all 44 at Bluewater Yacht Sales, and well, who can argue? Father, Chris Hall started Bluewater when Chris was a year old. He began his career washing boats, has worked in service, run the parts department and run the marinas among other jobs leading up to his role as Marketing/Quality manager. An accomplished sailor, diver and fisherman, Chris has also raced inboard hydroplanes under the family name. Having experienced most aspects of the business from production and service to sales, Chris has a unique perspective of the industry which helps him in his position at Bluewater. Chris resides in Yorktown, Va. with his wife Jennifer and daughter Madeline Rae.
Barbara Baize Operations Manager
Barbara Baize has joined Bluewater Yacht Sales as the Operations Manager and wil be working out of the Beaufort, NC office. Working in partnership with the Controller and Sales/Office Assistants, she will be overseeing the processes of preparing contracts and paperwork required in closings, as well as ensuring that all listings on the various websites are accurate and up-to-date. Barbara brings with her a vast knowledge of the boating world gained from her nearly 25 years experience in the Sales and Construction Management offices with Hatteras Yachts.
Barbara currently lives in New Bern, NC with her husband Art. Barbara grew up outside of Detroit, Michigan and relocated to this area when her husband was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point. They have two children and three grandchildren and love it when they come to visit. Barbara is an avid Detroit Red Wings fan.

After graduating from Bryant College in Rhode Island with a degree in accounting, Rich joined his family’s retail photo business. Rich helped to grow the business to 25 stores and a wholesale business servicing 800 retailers. In 1997, like a true entrepreneur, he sold the business to a national photo chain with over 1,000 stores and 200 Boaters World stores. Rich stayed involved with the operation as the Executive Vice President until 2011, when it was time for him to pursue his real passion, boats.
Boating has been in Rich’s blood since childhood. His father always had boats and that is where he caught the bug. He started early with Power Squadron classes and learned the basics, and has continued with boating education ever since.
In the past 30 years, he has owned and operated more than 15 boats, from 18' to 70'. Center consoles, express boats, sport cruisers, sport fish and motor yachts - built by Hatteras, Cabo, Donzi, Fountain, Viking, Viking Sports Cruisers, Albemarle and Tiara. So, Rich knows boats, first-hand. With this fleet, he visited their factories numerous times and worked closely with each to achieve exactly what he wanted. This experience greatly helps Rich’s new boat customers with the smooth delivery of their boating dreams.
Having lived and boated primarily in the Annapolis, Maryland area for the past 15 years, Rich has also traveled extensively with his boats from Connecticut to Florida. An additional knowledge bank that proves extremely valuable to Rich’s clients.
Rich learned early on in his retail career that listening to the customer is the only way to succeed. Along with his practical knowledge, retail negotiating skills and listening ability, he is well suited to help anyone achieve their goal of buying or selling a boat. And after the sale, you can count on Rich to do whatever is necessary to make sure that boating remains FUN for all.

Sheryl Jaros has been in the Marine Industry for 13 years. She spent 9 years at Black Dog Propellers in Stevensville, MD. working closely with the Viking Yacht Company in New Gretna, NJ. before coming on board with Bluewater Yacht Sales in 2009. Sheryl maintains office responsibilities and participates in all sales activities directly with customers/prospects and during Boat Shows. Sheryl loves boating and being out on the water. She lives on the Chesapeake Bay on Kent Island, MD.

Born and raised in Lancaster County, PA but, many of my most enjoyable early memories were from either trout fishing in the mountain streams of PA with my Grandfather or boating and fishing with my family on the Chesapeake Bay. I easily fell in love with boating and fishing. In fact my very first job was mating on a 38 foot sport fishing boat that spent the spring and fall in the Chesapeake Bay and the summers in Ocean City, MD before I even graduated from High School. From 1992 until 1995 I free-lanced on several different private and charter boats in Ocean City. At this time I also worked in the custom home building field. In 1997 I became a full time captain on a 53 foot private fishing boat that traveled up and down the east coast and the Caribbean. We even made an extremely memorable trip Cuba in the winter of 1999.
In 2001 I switched gears a little and took a job on 140 motor yacht that divided it’s time between the east coast, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. At this time I got STCW-95 certified as well as SCUBA certified. To this day I still greatly enjoy diving. In 2002 I relocated to Ft Pierce, FL and took a job as a captain on a 57 foot sport fish boat that also fished in the Caribbean and Center America. I also completed my 100 Ton Master’s Licenses trough Sea School.
After eight years of traveling thousands of miles with different boats I decided it was time to put down some roots. I once again moved back to Ocean City, MD stared my own company, Atlantic Marine Detailing, specializing in yacht maintance and deliveries, married my wife and had two sons who have been fishing in the bathtub since there were six months old. I still captain two private boats that split their time between OC and FL.

Greg Edwards is a long time cruiser and former Commodore of the Hampton Yacht Club. He and his wife Judy have cruised extensively on their Mainship 34, and know what it is like to search for and find a suitable boat in a broad and sometimes confusing marketplace. Like many of the Bluewater brokers, Greg has spent a lifetime in boats and enjoys bringing his experience to bear in guiding his clients to the right boating solution for their current needs.

Terrena grew up in Eastern North Carolina and has very fond memories of boating with her family on her grandfathers Harkers Island-style boat.
Terrena started working for Jarrett Bay Boatworks in 1998, just before they moved to their present location at the 175-acre Marine Industrial Park in Beaufort, North Carolina. She moved over to Jarrett Bay Yacht Sales in 2003.
Terrena lives in Eastern Carteret County with her husband Kevin and their son Devan and daughter Brittany.
