Jud Black is a partner and VP of Sales at Bluewater and has spent nearly every working hour in the boat business since age 15. While attending Virginia Tech as an engineering major, he married his high school sweetheart, Ann, and took a four year sojourn with IBM before finding his way back into boats as a District Sales Manager with Johnson Outboards, later becoming the DSM for their largest territory in South Florida. He subsequently joined Boston Whaler as Southeast Regional Manager, living in South Carolina, where he and Ann started their family with daughter Melissa. He joined Bluewater in 1988 to run their small boat division selling Whaler, Seacraft, Zodiac and Evinrude outboards. This division was later consolidated into Bluewater Yacht Sales, where he joined the ownership and management team. His recreational interests are, not surprisingly, sportfishing and boating, plus the occasional camping trip. He has been lending his extensive experience to Bluewater clients for nearly 25 years.

Bluewater Yacht Sales’ Virginia office is located at the Bluewater Yachting Center in Hampton, Virginia, adjacent to the Bluewater Yacht Yards. There is a broker available from 9 to 5 on weekdays and 9 to 3 on Saturdays, year round, with some holidays as the only exceptions. Many of our listings can be viewed in the water at the marina. Hank Sibley
Hank began in the boat business working with his father at the boatbuilding firms Gloucester Yachts and Chesapeake Powerboats in the mid 1980’s. He has since worked in sales capacities in the construction and marine supply businesses, and prior to joining Bluewater in 2011 he sold new and brokerage boats in Virginia Beach.
Hank is an long time sportfisherman and has known the Chesapeake since his youth. Recent years have found him offshore as well as part of Team Marlin Maniac. He and his wife Beverly have two boys, age 13 and 15, and make their home in West Point, Virginia. His boatbuilding and fishing background is a valuable asset in matching clients and the perfect boat.

Chris Hall, Jr
Some of our associates may claim that they grew up around Bluewater, but in this case, it is true. Chris Hall Jr. claims he has 37 years in the business with all 37 at Bluewater Yacht Sales, and well, who can argue? Father, Chris Hall started Bluewater when Chris was a year old. He began his career washing boats, has worked in service and run the parts department among other jobs leading up to his role in sales. An accomplished sailor, diver and fisherman, Chris has also raced Formula 3 boats under the family name. Having experienced most aspects of the business from production and service to sales, Chris has a unique perspective of the industry which serves as a bonus to his clients while guiding them through the process of selling or buying their boat. Chris resides in Yorktown, Va. with his daughter Madeline.

Pete Peters
Pete Peters is a life-long resident of Hampton Roads who has been in the boat business for most of his professional life. A honors graduate of Virginia Wesleyan in Norfolk, Pete has managed dealerships for many of the top small boat names such as Wellcraft, Formula, Grady-White and Carolina Classic. Married for 24 years, he and his wife have two daughters graduating in 2012, one from high school and one from college. He enjoys boating in any form, from small boat fishing, duck hunting, and wake boarding though deep water angling. Pete prides himself on the high percentage of his business that comes from repeat customers and referrals.

Greg Edwards
Greg Edwards is a long time cruiser and former Commodore of the Hampton Yacht Club. He and his wife Judy have cruised extensively on their Mainship 34, and know what it is like to search for and find a suitable boat in a broad and sometimes confusing marketplace. Like many of the Bluewater brokers, Greg has spent a lifetime in boats and enjoys bringing his experience to bear in guiding his clients to the right boating solution for their current needs. He is also Bluewater’s expert on the Duffy Electric launches.

Peter Bass
Peter Bass joined Bluewater in the fall of 2011 after stints in the boatbuilding, footwear, and furniture industries. He served as the Production Manager at Hinckley in the mid-1970’s, and has extensive experience in coastal and offshore sailing and power boating, in his own boats and as professional crew on others. Since 1998 he has been a regular contributor to boating magazines, writing boat reviews, boatbuilder and designer profiles. He has a particular interest and knowledge in Downeast style cruising and express powerboats.
