Dear Chris and Earle,
As both of you know, our 1995 Viking 38, Hull 38-143 spent most of winter at Bluewater Yacht Service Yard getting updated. We would like to give you some feed back first on our new boat, and then on our experience at your yard.
We couldn’t be happier with boat. At 19 years old she has the classic sport fisherman look, the room of a 50 footer, and is built like a battle ship. She has timeless lines that turns heads every day. Viking did a great job designing and building this boat. We are looking forward to enjoying her for many years to come.
Next, we would like to thank you and the entire crew at Bluewater Service Yard for helping us get through the challenge of updating and customizing the boat to our taste. When we first decided to buy the boat, we knew that we were going to spend the winter working on her. With Bluewater’s reputation there was no question in our mind of where we were going to get the work done. While we were there, every job that was completed from the electrical shop, paint shop, welding shop, carpentry shop, parts department, the detailers, service advisor, and service manager was done on time and within quote. With the natural complexity of boats and boat yards, we were very pleased that every problem that arose was met with a quick and accurate fix. One such event happened on the Saturday that we left the yard. Our engine mechanic broke a bracket on the main engine. Craig Messick was able to get it welded back and painted within 30 minuets, enabling us to get underway on time and back to our marina in Virginia Beach. This is just a small example of the many, many ways that your yard and crew goes above and beyond.
We are happy to know that we will have the support of Bluewater and their relationship with Viking to help keep our boat in first class shape while we own her. We highly recommend Bluewater Yacht Sales/Service for any prospective Yacht buyer/seller or anyone that needs the service of a world class yacht service yard.
