Signs of recovery are strong at JBYS with over 10 million worth of inventory sold and delivered during the last sixty days. According to Trade Only Today (1/11/2010): Echoing strong sales in November, 1,716 brokerage boats were sold in December, which was 52 percent higher than the same month in 2008. The total valuation of boats sold increased as well, by 64 percent, to $244 million. One key to December's gains was in the big-boat market. While all size categories showed 35 percent or greater increases in unit sales, a 93 percent increase for boats longer than 55 feet buoyed the whole market. JBYS 2009 Q4 sales were right in line with this, and 2010 Q1 and beyond are looking equally as bright for us.

When the stock market rallied on the first day of trading in 2010, it was noted that when the S&P 500 gains more than 1 percent on the first day of trading, the index has ended the year higher 86 percent of the time.
Since 1973, a big advance on the first trading day of January has been a strong sign that stocks will post robust gains for the rest of the year.

Jarrett Bay Boatworks Service Facility has had a steady increase in work orders since August of last year. And, transient dockage was very strong this year, indicating that boaters are on the water and heading south for the winter.
