One of the biggest marlin tournaments in the world, the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, just concluded its 57th year and has proudly donated over $3.3 million to charities in its history. Bluewater Yacht Sales is very proud to be a supporter of this esteemed world-class tournament which spans nine days and includes several events including the Keli Wagner Lady Angler Tournament and the Sunday Pig Pickin’ hosted by Bluewater Yacht Sales.

This year, we helped to kick off Big Rock week with the Pig Pickin’ located at the Boathouse Marina.

Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament win

This gathering included vendors with product booths and six boats on display in the water from many of our featured brands including Back Cove, Jarrett Bay, Jupiter and Viking. Plenty of food and refreshments were served as hundreds of people gathered in a friendly outdoor atmosphere before the fishing action began Monday morning.

And action there was, as a big blue marlin was boated by the Bluewater crew aboard the Viking 62 demo in the first 15 minutes on Day 1! Earle Hall of Bluewater Yacht Sales set the bar high with his 680 pound blue, and this fish eventually brought the Viking 62 to a first place win in the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament. Team members including Viking Captain Brian Komer and Bluewater’s Earle Hall, Clark Sneed and Mark Connors accepted the awards and prizes amounting to over $560,000 at the Saturday evening banquet.

In the Junior Angler Division, William Farrior released a white marlin aboard Job Site – a Viking 55 Convertible – captained by his father and good friend to Bluewater, Bill Farrior. Also finishing on the big leader board were our friends and customers aboard the Viking 76, Accordingly IV captained by Bluewater Sales Professional Peter DuBose. They took second place in the release division with two blue marlin released over the week; landing a purse of over $43,000. Congratulations to Capt. DuBose and the Accordingly IV team and a very warm congratulations to Earle Hall and team for landing an impressive blue marlin and taking home first place in the 57th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament!
