There is no denying the beauty and charm infused into each model offered by Sabre Yachts. The iconic lines and styling that pay homage to the Maine lobster boats of decades past have been refined and modernized, while the high-tech innovations never cease. The Downeast style, proud bows and breathtaking woodwork and joinery help to hide innovative systems that add ingenuity, safety and convenience for the yachtsman and owner. The latest innovation to launch from the famed Maine-based yacht builder is their Networked Command and Control System currently offered on their flagship 58 SE, and the new 43 SE. This new system allows owners the ability to check critical functions and control any circuit on the boat from either the Garmin displays or an iPad mini. Controls include “mode of operation” or “scene” settings—allowing the operator to designate lighting and circuit configurations of the boat with the touch of a button. This system goes a step further by offering remote access as well as GPS monitoring, geofencing, trip logging, and NMEA 2000-based alarms delivered directly to a mobile phone through the Sabre Connect app. their CNC router, which is being used to cut the jig stations and stringer surfaces to be laminated for hull 68, a new 90-footer getting underway this year. He explains how this once laborious and tedious process of shaping the installed stringers with dangerous hand tools is now made more quickly, safely and precisely by the computer-aided machine. Jarrett Bay has always had a knack for honoring their boat building heritage and concepts, while supplementing its time-honored and proven techniques with new materials and modern tools. While some may interpret automation as costing people jobs, the truth is that hiring and training tradesmen in this job market is as challenging as ever. Furthermore, these technologies allow for new efficiencies and increased capacity—values that can be in turn passed on to the customers. Hodge summarizes by saying he enjoys working with all of his Jarrett Bay teammates even if the list is too long to name them, “Frankly, we’re all a bit eccentric, but together we have produced some incredible vessels. Historically and currently, we have an amazing collection of highly talented people starting with the design team and continuing to the finish team doing the final touch-ups at the end of the process.” Plus, think of all the other capable hands in between the start and finish, helping to shape these uniquely custom masterpieces; because at Jarrett Bay, it truly is, ‘all about the people!’ Luke Pearson films a recent Jarrett Bay Insider episode demonstrating the CNC router replacing hand tools to shape stringers Sabre Yachts Integrates Their Command System Into the New 43 Salon Express Classic Style Meets High Technology 32 BLUEWATER
